Hermes Kelly is the famous bag named after Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly. Unlike Kelly, Jane Birkin really had something to do with the creation of Hermes Birkin bag that bears her name. In 1984, she was aboard a plane and struggled in her bag full of business files to find something for her daughter Charlotte. The president of Hermes Jean Louis Dumas sat next to her and they began the conversation of how it was difficult for a young mother to find a handbag chic and practical.
